Canadiens Advance to Eastern Conference Finals

After defeating the Boston Bruins on Wednesday May 14th, 2014, the Montreal Canadiens are one step closer to winning the Stanley Cup. For Canadian and hockey fans that followed the second round series between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens, it was a series that was far from boring as the series literally went back and forth. Game six of the series was Montreal’s chance to end the series but the Bruins prevailed as they were able to force a game seven. Luckily, the Canadiens came out on top proving to be the better team as they defeated the Bruins 3 to 1 on home ice in game seven.

The Canadiens have proven to be a strong competitor throughout this season and so far in this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Canadiens are scheduled to face the New York Rangers, this Saturday night, May 17th as they kick off their start into the Eastern Conference Finals. Being the only Canadian hockey team left in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs I have to root for them since the Vancouver Canucks didn’t place for a seed in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year at all. I predict the series for the Montreal Canadiens and NY Rangers to be another tough series. My guess is that the series will go to a game seven with the Montreal Canadiens coming out as the winner being the Eastern Conference Champions as I wish to see them face the Chicago Blackhawks, the 2013 Stanley Cup Champions.
